The author captures the imagery of the people and the island extremely well. The plot is believable, and the characters are realistic. The fear and anxiety of the rebels can be felt throughout the book. The latter half of the novel is shockingly unexpected, and the ending is calm.

This is a wonderful yet brutal story. Enjoy it.

I give it a high rating: 4½ out of 5.
