The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa

The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa is well constructed and beautifully written. Some have argued that it would have been fascinating if the book had been written as nonfiction. The violent use of language in the novel is disturbing at times, but appropriate given the subject matter. If you enjoy political or historical novels that don’t shy away from graphic content and also appreciate a challenging read, this is certainly a good book for you.
