Atomised by Michel Houellebecq follows half-brothers Michel and Bruno, who share a mother but little else. Michel is a man with virtually no erotic life, while Bruno is a libertine whose endless lust is only rarely reciprocated.

The book club really enjoyed the novel, and it led to a strong, engaging discussion. It proved to be a deeply thought-provoking book, with most members rating it 4 or 4½ out of 5.
