Bookclub Review
The novel follows Dwight Wilmerding, an HSI student in his late twenties who struggles with chronic indecision. When he is offered an experimental drug designed to eliminate indecisiveness, he agrees to take it.
The story later shifts as Dwight visits an old classmate living in Ecuador. While the premise is intriguing, many readers felt the book ultimately lacked clear direction.
The main characters were often perceived as self-centered, emotionally detached, and disengaged, which made it difficult to connect with them.
However, the author’s witty dialogue and distinctive narrative style appealed to some, helping to sustain interest despite the novel’s shortcomings.
