Bookclub Review

This is an easy book and a fun page-turner, with a twist at the end. At times, the group felt that the story lacked depth and was, in parts, somewhat flimsy. The pigeon device that was used left us feeling confused. However, the author did manage to capture Ghanaian culture well.
The ending came as a surprise to all of us, and this is actually what strengthens the book. We were all surprised that the book made it onto the longlist for the Man Booker Prize.
