In a Strange Room by Damon Galgut

This is a profoundly honest and fascinating book. The author crafts the characters skillfully and leaves the reader haunted by the beauty of the story. Much of the narrative is left to the reader’s imagination, with no clear conclusions provided for some of the lingering questions.

A few members rated the book five out of five. It was the runner-up for the Booker Prize last year and proved to be a strong contender against the eventual winner.
