The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

A true page-turner. The author uses descriptive language beautifully, with adjectives placed perfectly throughout the story. If you haven’t read this book, you definitely should. Hosseini captures both the violent reality of the Taliban and the beauty of Kabul in a powerful way. The issues of immigration in the latter half of the book are also very well presented. Even though this is one of the most popular reads of the 21st century, our group would still highly recommend it, as it is simply a great read.
